Primary School Teacher Heidi Greenwood received the award for her creative initiative during lockdown
Heidi is also a mother of five and advocate for the British farming community, during the pandemic she spent time reading stories to farm animals to encourage children to read at home.
Via Facebook, Heidi read children’s stories from South Brockwells farm in Little Horsted. Different animals were involved each time, promoting and educating children about farm life.
Wealden MP, Nus Ghani said, “Wealden is home to many amazing farms which are the lifeblood of rural life. With the support of the Wells family at South Brockwells farm, Heidi has gone above and beyond for her pupils and found a fantastic way to educate our children about farm life and animals whilst keeping them entertained and encourage them to read. From the many nominations she’s received I know how popular “Mrs Greenwood’s Story Time At The Farm” is with children and adults alike. Well done Heidi!”
South Brockwells Farm also has a shop selling home grown seasonal vegetables and meat. Find out more at www.southbrockwellsfarm.com
