Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, has welcomed recent upgrades to Crowborough’s Waitrose store.
The Waitrose store in Crowborough has undergone refurbishments this summer to improve its facilities. Parts of the store were temporarily closed off to allow for the works, but have now been fully reopened with exciting upgrades to the store layout and to its customer café.
As part of the changes, the isles have been widened for better customer experience, the bakery section has been expanded and a new section of dry aged meat has been added. The store has also gained new section of homeware and a refurbished and enlarged café area, accessible from the Croft Road entrance which improves customer flow in and out of the store. A new set of self-scan checkouts has also been installed for greater convenience to customers with small shops.
Nusrat Ghani said: “I’m a regular customer at Crowborough Waitrose and I’m pleased to see these fantastic upgrades to its facilities and expanded meat counters and bakery section. Wider isles mean safer and more accessible shopping environment, more product selection for customers and greater opportunities to support our fantastic local smaller, independent growers and suppliers. The fantastic new café provides a perfect meeting place for Crowborough residents and visitors to enjoy a cup of tea and cake in the centre of town. I have previously held my surgeries in local Waitrose stores, and I look forward to resuming face-to-face meetings across Wealden again.”
