Chair's comments
Darren Jones, Chair of the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) Committee said:
“Sir Jan demonstrated a strong understanding of the challenges facing the Financial Reporting Council, not least concerning the immediate issues relating to the FRC’s own governance. We expect Sir Jan to now demonstrate the independence, challenge, and drive necessary to ensure the FRC is able to intervene to correct problems in the audit sector, and prepare for its future role in overseeing corporate governance more widely.
As a Committee, we are pleased to endorse Sir Jan’s appointment and look forward to engaging with him during his tenure in this important role”.
