Wealden MP Nusrat Ghani has convened a follow up meeting with the District Council leader and local councillors to discuss the proposed Get Active Pathway (GAP) project at Horam recreational ground. This follows on from her initial meeting with Horam Village Hall trustees last December.

The project is widely supported by the Horam community, and a planning application has been granted by Wealden District Council.

The GAP project proposes the construction of a one kilometre long all-weather exercise path around the perimeter of the recreation ground, which could be used all year round.

Nusrat is supporting the Horam Village Hall trustees in exploring ways of raising funds for the construction and convened a meeting with the leader of Wealden District Council Bob Standley, and district councillors for Horam Susan Stedman and Bob Bowdler to discuss opportunities for the project’s support.

Nusrat Ghani said: “This project would be a great enhancement of the recreational facilities available in Wealden and an asset to Horam communities. I am pleased to support it and I will continue working with Horam’s fantastic local councillors, the District Council Leader and Horam Village Hall trustees to explore opportunities to secure funding for the construction.”
