Nusrat Ghani, MP for Weladen, spoke to the BBC Radio 4 Today programme about the closure of the Parliamentary TikTok account, following a letter she sent to the Speakers of both Houses of Parliament.
She stressed that should the CCP demand data from TikTok's parent company (ByteDance), it is illegal under Chinese law to refuse (and to disclose that a request has been made).
She added that TikTok should guarantee that no data (not just user data) will ever be shared with China.
