Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, has met with representatives from Sense UK charity at the Conservative party Conference in Birmingham to discuss their work in Wealden and cross the country.
Sense, is the national disability charity with key belief that everyone should be able to take part in life, no matter their disability. People with complex disabilities tend to have two or more disabilities and experience unique barriers in daily life. This can make it harder to develop new skills, communicate and live independently. The charity has 20 centres and colleges in communities across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and Sense Scotland operates a further three.
Through its sister charity, Sense International, the charity is active in eight countries around the world, ensuring that people with deafblindness are able to access education, healthcare and the means to earn a living.
Sense has charity shops across the UK including in Uckfield and Hailsham through which Wealden residents can support their work.
