Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, visited the Buxted Medical Centre to celebrate its improved rating awarded at a recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection.
Buxted Medical Centre and its two branch sites, East Hoathly and Manor Oak Surgeries in Heathfield, are now classified as “good” by the health and social services regulator, following the implementation of special measures after their previous inspection.
This autumn, Buxted Medical Centre has seen its rating improve by two grades following the latest CQC inspection in September 2022, when inspectors returned to Buxted to assess how the GP practice is working and offering care to patients.
Nusrat has previously been collaborating closely on effective Covid-19 vaccine distribution in Wealden with Charlotte Luck, the current practice director at Buxted Medical Centre, who was awarded Practice Manager of the Year Award 2020.
Nusrat Ghani said: “I was pleased to visit Buxted Medical Centre to meet Charlotte and Dr Gill, one of the GP Partners, to learn about the huge efforts of the whole team of medical staff and those working behind the scenes to make the surgery better for Buxted patients. The latest CQC inspection rating is a great testament to those efforts, so thank you for stepping up to the challenge and delivering better capacity and better services. Buxted Medical Centre is a great asset to local residents and I look forward to seeing it thrive in the future.”
