Following the pupil’s recent visit to the Houses of Parliament, Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, returned to Framfield Church of England Primary School, to answer their questions on her role as Member of Parliament and Minister of State.

Having recently had a first-hand experience of the British political system and its democratic processes, the class engaged Nusrat in a discussion about her journey to the green benches, everyday duties as a Member of Parliament and her work on national and local issues. The pupils were also keen to share their views and pose insightful questions on climate change, river pollution and improving local infrastructure and facilities.

Nusrat Ghani said: “It was a pleasure to visit Framfield CoE Primary School. It is always inspiring to see how passionate our young residents are about issues impacting their lives, and I would like to say a huge thank you to the School Councillors who joined me in answering some of the more challenging questions from their peers. I was very impressed with how up-to-date and relevant the questions from the floor were, which is a great testament to both parents and teachers."
