Uckfield FM

A 10-day surface dressing programme, began yesterday on our local roads.

The work will cover 141,000 square metres of rural and urban roads most at risk of wear and tear. Surface dressing seals and waterproofs the road and improves the skid resistance, extending the life of the road surface by up to 10 years. This work is a part of the East Sussex County Council’s £15 million maintenance programme for roads this year.

Work taking place in Wealden includes:

  • Coleman’s Hatch Road, Forest Row – 16th June 2021
  • Edenbridge Road, Hartfield – 17th June 2021
  • Mayfield Lane, Wadhurst  – 18th June 2021
  • The Dicker, Laughton – 21st June 2021

Nus Ghani MP said: “Potholes remain one of the biggest issues in Wealden and I receive a huge amount of correspondence on the condition of our roads every year. I continuously raise the matter with our local authorities and pass on feedback from local residents. I am pleased that this much-needed makeover is being carried out this summer. It will result in better road safety and accessibility across Wealden and East Sussex.”
