Nusrat Ghani, MP for Sussex Weald, has called on new South East Water boss, John Halsall to visit her constituency and experience first-hand the impact recent water outages have had on local residents and businesses.
Nusrat Ghani said: “it shouldn’t take a member of parliament to invite water bosses to see what is happening on the ground. Of course we are grateful that Priority Services Register customers receive water deliveries, but the impact is felt across the whole community, residents and businesses alike.
In a recent letter to me, the new boss John Halsall told me SEW’s response to the crisis in numbers. Many of my constituents don’t want statistics, they want solutions. I share their belief that this water crisis could have been wholly avoided had South East Water had a better grip of their assets.
I have invited South East Water’s boss to meet with me, local residents, businesses and the Heathfield Chamber of Commerce to see the impact this situation has caused.
This will be a great opportunity for residents and businesses across Sussex Weald constituency to share with me their questions which I will put to the water company’s bosses. Head to my websitewww.nusghani.org.uk/SEWsurvey and let me know what you think and what questions you would like me to ask.”
