Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, has welcomed the news of a brand new collection of stories celebrating the 95th anniversary of the original Winnie-the-Pooh stories. The official, Winnie-the-Pooh: Once There was a Bear imagines the ‘before stories’ of the adventures of Pooh, Eeyore and Piglet, and takes readers back to when Pooh was a toy bought from Harrods for Christopher Robin’s first birthday.
Nusrat Ghani said: "It is a huge privilege to represent the home of Winnie-the-Pooh in Parliament. People from all over the world visit Wealden to explore the original Poohsticks Bridge in the Hundred Acre Wood based in the Ashdown Forest. Wealden is also the home of the first POOH-SEUM and a fantastic Pooh Tea Room, which are both dedicated to the legacy of A.A. Milne. This new book is a great opportunity to revisit this timeless story and find out how Pooh becomes the iconic character that we all know and love."
