Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, has visited the Old Oak Inn in Caneheath, Arlington to meet its new owners and support Wealden’s hospitality sector.
The Old Oak Inn is a cosy 18th century oak beam traditional English pub and restaurant offering a wide range of drinks and traditional British meals. It has recently been taken over by new landlady Kate Maynard. She said: “We are pleased to be open fully. We have invested heavily in the pub since we acquired it at the start of lockdown and we are really proud of our food and drink offering. We hope to welcome many customers who venture out to Abbott’s Wood and the surrounding beautiful countryside over the summer.”
A large beer garden and pub frontage provide the perfect spot to enjoy the beautiful country views. For opening times and to book a table visit: www.oldoakinnarlington.co.uk.
Nusrat Ghani said: “We are lucky to have so many wonderful pubs in Wealden. They are key hubs for local communities and huge employers in the constituency, offering valuable work opportunities. I am pleased that our hospitality sector is fully reopen now and I would greatly encourage people from Wealden and beyond to visit the Old Oak Inn this summer. Supporting Wealden pubs and campaigning to secure better conditions for the hospitality sector will continue to be a core part of my work in Parliament and I will continue working to ensure that Wealden pubs continue to thrive.”
