Off the Line

Nusrat Ghani, MP for Sussex Weald, visited Off the Line vineyard in Hellingly to learn more about the exciting journey of the business since a new owner and directors took over last year.

Spanning across over 13 hectares of land and located beside the popular Cuckoo Trail, Off The Line vineyard was first established in 2014 when vines of Pinot Noir, Regent, Dornfelder and Rondo were planted for the business to specialise in producing still and sparkling rosé wines.

The vineyard was recently taken over by director duo Rachel and Rohen, who expanded the varieties to include Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, allowing the vineyard to diversify their wine offering in the near future and increase the current production of 20,000 bottles.

Off the Line boasts award-winning wines including Hip Rosé, Dancing Dog Rosé, Dog Rosé, and The Lady of Charmat NV, all of which are produced in the on-site winery. With the expansion of the outdoor seating area and the seasonal food offer, including fresh bread, charcuterie boards and stone-baked sourdough pizzas, it provides the perfect destination for a variety of experiences.

Guided vineyard tours and wine tastings are available, as well as different events including Pilates and Yoga in the vines, DJ nights, live music evenings and Sip & Paint sessions.

For more information, to book a tour and to shop the wines, visit www.offthelinevineyard.com.

Nusrat Ghani said: “I am proud that Sussex Weald is the home to some of UK’s best vineyards, producing award-winning wines of the highest quality. I was pleased to visit Off the Line vineyard in Hellingly to catch up with the new owner Richard and directors Rohan and Rachel, and to hear how the business has grown since they recently took over. With the expansion of seasonal menu and introduction of unique events and experiences to visitors, Off the Line vineyard is quickly becoming a key community hub and tourist destination, and I look forward to seeing their range of products grow over the coming years.”
