Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, has visited Grove Park school in Crowborough to speak to the Sixth Form students about her role as Member of Parliament.
Grove Park is an all age maintained special school, catering to learners with complex needs including those with profound, severe and moderate learning difficulties, autistic spectrum disorders and sensory needs.
The Sixth Form class has been learning about democracy, law and order and Nusrat visited them to give them a glimpse of her work in Wealden and internationally, and to answer the students' questions about her journey to Parliament and everyday life in Westminster.
Nusrat Ghani said: “It was a pleasure to meet the Sixth Form students at Grove Park school to talk to them about my journey to Westminster and the work I do serving Wealden communities and representing the UK as Member of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. I’m pleased that educational Parliamentary tours have now resumed and I am hoping to host the students and their teachers in Westminster soon, for their first-hand experience of our democracy.”
