As film, television, and theatre stars make the most out of the Awards Season, nominations are open for the prestigious Sussex Teacher of the Year Awards.
Nus Ghani is pleased to welcome the opening of the nomination process for the 2020 edition of the awards.
The Sussex Teacher of the Year Awards are organised by the charity Inspire Schools and recognise excellence in the field of teaching. Categories celebrate the efforts of both primary and secondary school teachers, as well as the sensational work put in by school leaders, senior teachers, newly qualified teachers, and support services.
Both Sussex-wide and Wealden-based winners will be announced at the ceremony, which is due to take place in June. In 2019, support services at Beacon Academy in Crowborough were honoured at the celebration.
Nus Ghani said:
‘First of all, I want to thank Inspire Schools for the hard work they put in running the Sussex Teacher of the Year Awards. Educators across Wealden and across the County deserve all the recognition they can get for the truly amazing work they do in motivating and guiding our children towards a bright future.’
‘I urge every parent and pupil in Wealden to nominate their favourite teacher or a teacher who has really made a difference to them. This is a fantastic way to say “thank you for your dedication”!’
‘I see the brilliant work of Wealden teachers throughout my various programmes involving schools in the constituency. From the stars in the eyes of pupils attending the Hailsham Careers Fair, two years ago, to the insightful questions posed by students from Frant School in Westminster, last week, to the success of Beacon Academy in Crowborough at these very awards last year – I am always reminded of the tremendous potential in Wealden schools.’
The deadline to submit nominations is 1st of March, before the judging panel convenes in April to decide on the winners. Nominations can be submitted online at sussexteacheroftheyear.co.uk .
