Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, has visited Mayfield Preschool to congratulate its management team on recently receiving an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating, and to discuss their concerns regarding maintenance costs and funding.
Mayfield Preschool has been serving the local community since 1985 and is open to all children from the age of 2 to school age. In January, the preschool was graded ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in all areas including quality of education, behaviour, personal development and leadership.
The school is situated at the heart of Mayfield village, surrounded by a large green garden and equipped with plenty of indoor and outdoor play areas for all ages, offering every child a hands-on approach to learning and a unique individual experience.

Nusrat Ghani said: “Early years education is crucial to giving every child the best start in life and I was pleased to visit Mayfield Preschool to meet its fantastic team who work hard to create a safe and happy environment for our children. I am pleased that the Government is committed to improving the quality of early years education and I welcome the Chancellor’s announcement of significant new investments to expand the free early education entitlements as part of the Spring Budget. Mayfield preschool has a rare opening of some places from September, so I would like to encourage parents from Mayfield and surrounding villages not to miss the opportunity to be part of this outstanding school and pay them a visit to find out more.”
