Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, has welcomed the announcement that East Sussex County Council will move forward with proposals to expand provisions at Grove Park School in Crowborough.
Grove Park is a special school catering to learners with complex needs including those with profound, severe and moderate learning difficulties, autistic spectrum disorders and sensory needs. Currently, it offers education to from primary stage through to Sixth Form.
After the expansion, the school would also offer up to eight nursery spaces and increase its overall capacity to 152 pupils.
The expansion is expected to involve a significant building project at the main site in Church Road, which would result in all Grove Park students being educated here instead of the current site-sharing arrangement with Beacon Academy.
Nusrat Ghani said: “Grove Park School is a great asset to Wealden, and I visited its Sixth Form students last spring to talk to them about my journey to Westminster and my work as Wealden’s MP. I welcome the proposals to expand the current provision of the school to also include nursery spaces and I will continue to follow progress on the matter closely.”
