NUSRAT Ghani, MP for Wealden, visited Bridgeside Surgery in Hailsham to participate in their open morning and to support the delivery of flu jabs to registered patients.
Bridgeside surgery is the smallest in Hailsham, providing medical services to around 6,500 patients. As the NHS winter vaccine programme is now underway, Bridgeside surgery is currently offering flu vaccinations, with clinics being held almost every day. Around 300 jabs were delivered to registered patients at the surgery on the morning of Nusrat’s visit.
If you are over 65 and eligible for a free flu vaccination, contact your local surgery to book an appointment.
Nusrat Ghani said: “I was pleased to visit Bridgeside surgery to meet its fantastic team and witness the delivery of the flu jab to local residents at one of their clinics. The whole operation ran seamlessly and the feedback from the patients I spoke to was great. The vaccine is the best form of defence against seasonal flu and gives vital protection to those most at risk. Thank you to Bridgeside surgery and all Wealden practices and pharmacies who are helping with the rollout of the winter booster and delivering it to local residents. Appointments continue to be available across Wealden, so I would like to encourage anyone who is eligible to be given the jab free on the NHS to book theirs.”
Gerard Fox, East Sussex County Councillor for Hailsham New Town (pictured) said: “I want to thank Bridgeside Surgery in Hailsham for welcoming myself and our MP Nus Ghani to their open morning on Saturday to meet the team giving flu vaccinations and volunteers from local organisations that patients can refer themselves to.
It was great to meet the flu vaccination team and local health charity volunteers who provide such essential support to our local community. The surgery reported that the morning was successful and that they have had good feedback, with around 300 jabs delivered on the day as a part of the NHS winter vaccine programme.”
