Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, has supported the second year of the London to Brighton electric vehicle rally, attended by Wealden-based electric vehicle company JLC.
The Big Lemon London to Brighton Electric Vehicle Rally is an annual event showcasing the development of electric vehicles and clean energy from the automotive, leisure and manufacturing sectors. The aim is to raise awareness of more sustainable vehicle technologies and renewable energy.
Nusrat works closely with JLC Group, a multidisciplined UK engineering company making fully electric vehicles on-site in Lower Dicker near Hailsham. The vehicles are assembled on-site, providing training packages, jobs and vital experience to young apprentices from local colleges including students from Hailsham Community College.
Nusrat Ghani said: “I’m pleased to be supporting this year’s London to Brighton electric vehicle rally. It is a great opportunity to showcase electric vehicles and renewable energy technology in bikes, cars and public transport. It is vital that we work towards making our transport means cleaner and greener and I am proud that Wealden-based companies such as JLC in Hailsham are leading the initiative.”
